today's little wins:

all my little wins

    what are little wins?

For some folks getting through each day can seem insurmountable. Seemingly small tasks, such as getting out of bed or preparing breakfast, are enormous challenges. Some mental health challenges can be so debilitating that accomplishing the things you need to do in order to help yourself can feel impossible. The task of reading messages from loved ones or contacting a support person can feel unconquerable, which in turn can result in feelings of isolation. Bedtime reflection on a day full of these battles can feel depressing and discouraging, because it’s hard to notice or reconcile what you’ve worked so hard at all day. The challenge and struggle compounds, making the next day even harder to face.

Some days though, or some moments, folks are able to push through the struggle and do the things they need to do to take care of themselves. These are the little wins! When brushing your teeth feels really hard, but you push through and get those teeth clean, you have won that battle! Taking note of these little wins can enable you to notice just how much you have accomplished each day. It can help you see the fruits of all your hard work and notice the completion of these tasks as achievements. Paying attention to the little wins can feel encouraging and productive. Noticing and feeling progress can help you to not feel so stuck.

If this sounds like you, feel free to track your little wins here. Watch them grow each day and each week. Your hard work deserves to be noticed and celebrated! Good luck!
